The Africa and the Islands International Film Festival(Fifai) organized by the city of Le Port, was born in september 22nd 2003, Village Titan Cultural centre was the supporting body. The festival is the follow up of an event called ‘days of the african and the islands films’ which started in 1993 in the city of Le Port, and other cities in Reunion Islands and in Mayotte (Comoros Archipelagos).The main impulse was made possible through establishement of structures by the municipality of Le Port : training schools, festival, production compagnies and the administrative support of Village Titan circa 83-89, the School of Fine Arts of Reunion islands, and the ILOI (Institut of the image of the Indian Ocean).
